Available schedules: Tuesday-Saturday: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (Sunday & Monday OFF) Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM and Friday & Saturday, 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM (Sunday & Monday OFF) Thursday-Monday: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (Tuesday & Wednesday OFF) DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW Residential, Retail and Supply Chain Services (RRSS) is a broad and complex campus department consisting of five key units: Housing, Dining and Hospitality (HDH), Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS), the UC San Diego Bookstore, Triton Print & Digital Media, and the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). RRSS aims to deliver innovative services to activate the campus and meet the diverse needs of the UC San Diego community. As one of the largest units in RRSS, HDH is self-funded with more than 900 staff employees, over 1,000 student employees and an annual operating budget of $250 million. HDH provides housing for more than 20,000 undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, staff and their families in over 400 buildings and approximately 10 million square feet. The housing facilities accommodate more than 13,000 single undergraduate and 5,100 graduate and medical students, 650 faculty and staff for rent housing units, and over 1,000 dependents (more than 400 building and 5,700,000 area square feet of facility space) in a 24-7, 365-day work setting. The dining services facilities provide 33,000 meal transactions per day (over 10 million transactions annually) to students, staff, faculty, visitors and conference attendees. HDH also provides maintenance and repair, contract meals and meal plan management, retail food service, conference services and catering services to student residents, faculty, staff and campus guests. HDH has expanded tremendously to better support the residential population of more than 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students and their families. Please click here to visit the Housing Dining Hospitality website: DESCRIPTION Under supervision, performs semi-skilled and skilled cleaning of College Residences /Dining Halls facilites, bathrooms, kitchens, suites, and landings. Will operate vacuum cleaners and floor machines. Other duties include damp/dust mop, sweep, vacuum, shampoo carpet, wax and buff floors, empty trash, move and arrange furniture, wash windows, clean rooms, furniture, bathrooms, and appliances. Responsible for safeguarding assigned area's keys and care/operation of custodial supplies and equipment. Will respond to routine and emergency work requests from supervisor, staff, maintenance, Customer Service Center, and police department as needed. Will provide customer service to student residents and guests as needed. Work location is Dining Halls/student residence. Positive interaction with staff, residents, and guests is required. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to operate custodial equipment Physical ability to perform indicated tasks Ability to follow oral and written instruction Ability to determine when repairs are necessary and inform supervisor Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with groups of diverse people Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, University employees, and residents Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must have a valid California Driver's License, good driving record and participate in the DMV pull program May be required to work overtime by supervisor with little or no advanced notice. Will be required to work alternate work hours and shifts. Must be physically able to perform physical labor for extended periods. Background check is required. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $40,653 - $50,550 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $19.47 - $24.21 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
