Working closely with campus financial management, Accounting & Fiscal Services (AFS) ensures the integrity of UCI's financial reporting, enables effective and efficient campus financial processes and controls, and champions compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. Serving as one of 8 functional teams within AFS, the Central Payroll office partners with the UCPath Center to ensure payroll is processed promptly and accurately for UCI employees per UC policy and federal and state regulations and manages the UCI campus Time Reporting System (TRS). Serving as subject matter experts in UCPath Center payroll processes, UCPath system payroll, module, and TRS, the Central Payroll office provides tier one and tier two customer service inquiry resolution for Payroll and TRS matters as well as partnering with the UCPath Center on tier three inquiries requiring additional UCPath support.
Responsibilities:
Applies business process and analysis concepts and department / unit and location policies and procedures to resolve a variety of business process problems. Works on business process issues of limited to moderate scope where evaluation of processes, procedures and data requires analysis using a variety of factors.
This position is required to work independently, managing multiple competing priorities and varying deadlines. Under the direction of the Director of Payroll Services for Accounting & Fiscal Services, the Central Timekeeping Administrator (CTA) serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and main functional analyst for the UCI Time Reporting System (TRS). This position is responsible for review and resolution of all tier 1 & 2 functional and technical support inquiries received through EEC Service Now. The CTA will work closely with our OIT partners and campus partners from other UC locations who also utilize TRS to address technical defects and change requests affecting multiple UC locations. The CTA will represent UCI's interests in the systemwide TRS workgroup. This position will be responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training and course material for UCI campus employees, supervisors, and Department Time Administrators (DTA). The CTA will work closely with the Sr Payroll System's Analyst and the Case Management and Payroll Support Team to address Payroll inquiries, on-cycle payroll and Absence Management issues and support.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $69,500.00-$82,140.00 (Annually)
Required:
Thorough knowledge of payroll and timekeeping processes, policies and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of payroll and timekeeping data management and reporting systems.
Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Strong skill utilizing the entire Microsoft Office suite.
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

Proven ability to adapt to and successfully manage changing and competing priorities, completing work thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Thorough knowledge of UCPath payroll and AM processes, policies, and procedures.
Ability to read and understand CBAs, UC policy, and State/Federal legislation and apply relevant provisions to pay and accrual practices.
Experience and skill in conducting both technical and functional testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Ability to work with various levels of the organization to lead or support project design, execution, and management as appropriate.
Ability to communicate with and present to various levels of the organization.
Experience creating and delivering training material.
Experience and understanding of UC systemwide HR/Payroll system: UCPath
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
A minimum of 3 years of experience Experience in technical/functional support role within HR, Payroll, or time keeping system.
Preferred:
Experience in UCI specific time reporting and other systems: Time Reporting System (TRS), EEC Service Now, KFS, KSAMS
Familiarity with UC Staff and Academic policy governing payroll, timekeeping, and AM.
Familiarity with existing UCI CBAs (RA, BX, CX, BR, HX, IX, EX, DX, PA, PX, LX, NX, RX, SX, TX, K9, M9).
Special Conditions:
Must pass a background check
As needed, must be willing and able to work outside of normal work hours to ensure task completion and service delivery
Must have a valid Driver's License and Participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program
