As our chosen Compliance Specialist every day, you will review and approve new resident applications and assist with all compliance-related issues throughout our national portfolio.

Requirements

To thrive in this role:

3-5 years of experience in affordable housing compliance management and in-depth understanding of Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC, Bond and USDA Rural Development regulations

Certifications highly preferred, such as Assisted Housing Manager (AHM), Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Tax Credit Specialist (TCS)

Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with tenants, property management teams, and regulatory agencies

Understanding of Fair Housing Laws and the ability to ensure compliance with these regulations within housing programs

Ability to handle pressure due to complexity and time sensitivity

Highly motivated and able to work independently

Bonus Skills

Familiarity with Yardi and other compliance systems for compliance tracking

Experience preparing for and managing compliance audits and inspections (e.g., MOR's, REAC, USDA inspections).

Prior experience working in multifamily housing or property management, especially in a compliance-focused capacity
