Install or repair network cables, including fiber optic cables. (2% of workload) Monitor company Web sites or publications for information about patches, releases, viruses, or potential problem identification. (10% of workload) Train users in procedures related to network applications software or related systems (Sage/Microsoft Apps/ TEKLYNX/ Databases). (2% of workload) Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware (Printer/ CNC Machine/ Sato Label Printer), systems software (Sage/ Microsoft Apps), applications software (Company Website/Sage/ Microsoft Apps/Adobe Acrobat/ Adobe Illustrator/ Adobe Photoshop/ Quickbook/ Dropbox/ Google Drive/ Microsoft SharePoint), and all configurations. (5% of workload) Test repaired items to ensure proper operation (Printer/ CNC Machine/ Sato Label Printer). (2% of workload) Install and configure wireless networking equipment (Printer/ CNC Machine/ Sato Label Printer). (2% of workload) Research hardware (Paper cup printing machines/ Paper Cup making Machines/ Automation equipment) or software products (Accounting/ Databases/ cybersecurity software) to meet technical networking or security needs. (5% of workload) Create or revise user instructions (CNC machine instructions/ Microsoft Windows Server instruction), and procedures (artwork procedures, water line production procedures) or manuals. (6% of workload) Set up equipment (computers/ phone/ printer / CAD cutting machine) for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. (3% of workload) Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. (5% of workload) Answer user inquiries regarding computer software (Sage/ Microsoft Apps/Adobe Acrobat/ Adobe Illustrator/ Adobe Photoshop/ Quickbook/ Dropbox/ Google Drive/ Microsoft SharePoint) or hardware operation (Printer/ CNC Machine/ Sato Label Printer) to resolve problems. (10% of workload) Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. (15% of workload) Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications. (13% of workload) Coordinate with vendors (Printing Plate Vendor/ Packaging Vendor) and with company personnel to facilitate purchases. (20% of workload) JOB REQUIREMENT: Bachelors degree in computer science or closely related field. 2 years as an IT support Specialist in packaging industry. This position also requires education or experience in computer-aided design (CAD) software; Install, configure, maintain, and monitor computer operating systems, applications, and networks; Systems and network designing including documentation, implementation, testing, and administration.
