Job description

Overview:
This position provides administrative and customer support to the Divisional Controller, Commercial Feed. Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of items received, product manufacturing and inventory reconciliation. This position will also bill our customers for products and/or services and assist the Accounting Team as needed.

This is a hybrid role working at least 2 days per week in our main office located in Goshen, CA.

The salary range for this position is $24.50 to $28.75 per hour. The Company offers insurance coverage that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, a 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, and more.

Responsibilities:
Inventory duties:

Process inventory control tasks, including reconciliation of manufacturing and sales orders.

Input/post manufacture mixed feeds, ensuring all ingredients are accurate and address any discrepancies before posting.

Receive and record bulk purchase orders via rail and truck.

Create and manage sales orders, ensuring timely processing and daily shipping/invoicing for retail.

Process vendor invoices in Accounts Payable (AP).

Generate and distribute daily Purchase Price Variance reports to upper management.

Manage direct shipments, including receiving and shipping.

Address issues with cancelled orders, including adjustments to manufacturing orders and product allocation.

Create and process grain tickets for retail after shipment.

Coordinate month-end activities, including scheduling shrink count meetings and preparing/editing count sheets.

Enter and reconcile inventory counts and run shrink reports.

Utilize multiple integrated systems for daily tasks.

Assist accounting staff where needed.

Additional duties as assigned by the Divisional Controller

Accounting duties:

Scan, route, or enter various payables according to business unit and appropriate manager.

Organize and process payables according to payment terms in accounting software.

Review vendor information for accuracy.

Respond to inquiries quickly, accurately and courteously.

Obtaining and maintaining appropriate vendor contact information.

Processing and invoicing various shipments.

Drive and/or assist with the monthly close process to include generating and mailing statements.

Troubleshoot and problem solve any issues that arise.

Helps with Ad Hoc assigned projects as needed.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience, accounting background is a plus.

Strong knowledge of general accounting process and ability to reconcile information.

Skills:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).

Accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Must be self-motivated, capable of working independently and with others.

Strong organization and research skills.

Good customer service and human relations skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Strong oral/written and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirments:
Must be able to perform repetitive motion and fine manipulation tasks for long intervals of time.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Regularly moves items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Environment:
Regularly exposed to indoor/climate-controlled office environment.

Occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and noisy conditions.

Occasionally exposed to major amount of dust.

Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

Occasionally exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.
