About the Role
The Dean of Students is responsible for supporting efforts to build and maintain a positive, achievement-oriented school culture. This includes managing student behavior programs, fostering respectful relationships with students and families, and partnering with the administration to provide academic and behavioral support. The Dean works closely with the Principal and other campus administrators to assist with school management, ensuring the overall well-being of the students and the community.

Collaborate with the Principal to ensure consistent communication about school issues and solutions.

Assist with classroom and playground observations and student behavior management.

Apply conflict resolution strategies to manage and de-escalate situations within the school environment.

Organize and review student assessments and progress reports to track academic and behavioral performance.

Coordinate academic and behavioral support for students.

Maintain student discipline records and ensure appropriate follow-up.

Communicate with parents about student performance, conduct, and academic support plans.

Help plan school events and create school schedules.

Oversee student supervision and safety, including Before and After Care programs.

Participate in faculty and staff meetings to address school culture and operational concerns.

Support the admissions team by participating in admissions events.

Perform additional duties as needed to support the school and administrative team.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Education & Credentials

Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university required.

Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience.

Teaching Credential preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technology tools for communication and administration.

Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain order.

Conflict Resolution: Effectively manage and de-escalate situations, mediating conflicts where necessary.

Detail-Oriented: Ability to focus on small details in tasks and projects.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff.

Cooperation: Work effectively in teams and support group efforts to meet school objectives.

Efficiency: Prioritize tasks and manage day-to-day responsibilities effectively.

Additional Requirements
The Dean of Students may be required to work beyond regular school hours, including nights and weekends.
