Volt is immediately hiring Payroll and Accounting Specialist for a local leading Manufacturing Company in El Cajon Ca.
As a Payroll and Accounting Specialist you will:

  • Review timecard transactions on a daily, weekly, and bi-weekly basis.
  • Verify hours in the ERP/MRP system for completeness and prepare them for upload to ADP Workforce Now Essential Time.
  • Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy, correcting any errors including hours worked and pay adjustments.
  • Communicate with cross-functional supervisors and managers regarding the accuracy and completion of time and attendance records.
  • Input, review and audit timekeeping and other payroll related records.
  • Review and submit bi-weekly payroll batch within required deadline.
  • Process court-ordered garnishments, including calculating deductions and responding to agencies and employees
  • Process final checks outside typical bi-weekly payroll batch.
  • Review reports to correct inconsistencies or out-of-balance situations and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions/inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot payroll processing system errors and work with vendor to resolve.
  • May assist with other accounting activities including but not limited to accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions/tasks.
  • Accounts payable duties may include reviewing, validating, and vouchering invoices into ERP system, investigate discrepancies and assist in weekly payment cycles.
  • Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephone calls, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested, or needed.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire Opportunity
The ideal candidate will have:
  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now and using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to use ADP Workforce Now, Essential Time and Attendance.
  • Ability to operate computers programmed with accounting software and or Microsoft office.
  • Strong knowledge of California pay labor laws.
  • Knowledge of general accounting practices.
  • Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to use select the correct mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
  • Ability to take initiative and maintain confidentiality.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel calculations.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 1st shift
Pay rate: $23.00 To $30.00 Hourly
Pay Rate offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
