Anduril is seeking an experienced, dynamic Director of Electrical Engineering to lead and drive innovation within our avionic systems development for UAVs. Looking for a leader with deep technical experience in analog and digital electronics, PCB design, and UAV systems. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical design, from concept to production, while ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. The Director of Electrical Engineering will also be instrumental in fostering cross-functional collaboration, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring top-tier performance and reliability in our cutting-edge technologies. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead and Strategize: Oversee the development and execution of electrical engineering programs across avionics systems for UAVs, from concept through production. Ensure alignment with overall company goals and objectives. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers. Provide direction on the design and testing of electronic systems, ensuring all team members are achieving project milestones and meeting quality standards. Technical Vision: Establish the long-term vision for the electrical engineering department, driving innovation and excellence. Maintain a focus on scalability, reliability, and adherence to industry standards. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the product management, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into the broader product architecture. Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with key suppliers and vendors for electronic components and systems, ensuring the best quality and systems, ensuring the best quality, cost, and delivery timelines. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the design and implementation of electronic systems, ensuring high reliability and performance in demanding environments. Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with company financial goals. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams and overseeing complex projects. Leadership Skills: Proven track record in building and leading high-performing engineering teams. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of analog and digital electronics design, PCB design, and FPGA development. Strong understanding of UAV avionics systems, including flight controls, payload integration, and power management. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced Degree: A Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Industry Standards: Familiarity with DO-254, MIL-STD-810, and other relevant industry standards. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical decisions with the company's business strategy. US Salary Range $200,000 - $235,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
