About you:

We are looking for a technical expert who thrives in the ambiguity of a start up environment, is mission driven, has an extraordinary passion for space, is a self starter, and a problem-solver.





The scope of the position includes:




  • Working cross-functionally, with a focus on lunar lander mission objectives

  • Coordinating with leadership team on staffing allocation and resources

  • Being a technical contributor to challenging engineering problems & having key input into the design, build and testing of our lunar lander

  • Providing engineering expertise and leadership

  • Providing mentorship and guidance to the technical team



Candidates filling this position will need to have strong skills with computer hardware and software. It would be beneficial to have strong skills in advanced mathematics and computer programming. This candidate will be responsible for leading the team and assisting with the work related to:

Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Develop hardware architecture

  • Select flight computers, solar panels, and power system hardware

  • Select/develop peripheral boards including support for 802.11ac, RS-422, Ethernet, CCSDS

  • Work with software team on board support packages

  • Ensure appropriate reliability and fault tolerance

  • Trajectory analysis

  • Guidance algorithms

  • Control laws

  • Kalman filters

  • Sensor fusion

  • Flight simulators

  • Optimization

  • Geodesy

  • Orbital mechanics

  • C, C++, Python, MATLAB

  • Navigation sensors (GPS, star trackers, LIDAR, IMU, etc.)

  • Systems engineering

  • Hands on test and integration

  • Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicles and working on ambitious projects



Logistical Requirements:



Must be a U.S. person as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR 120.15)
