Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant will provide essential support to healthcare providers by performing both clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a caring demeanor, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for examination, including taking vital signs, medical histories, and performing basic diagnostic tests.
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a high level of comfort and care.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians, following proper protocols.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for further testing if needed.
  • Update and maintain patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up visits.
  • Handle patient inquiries, provide education on treatment plans, and assist with insurance and billing questions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including infection control procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate s degree in Medical Assisting or a related field preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA, RMA) preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and office practices.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems and basic office software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • CPR certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
