As a Senior Principal Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer, you will work on a close-knit team to create advanced, physics-based modeling solutions in the DoD Space. You will develop key technologies in the Electro-Optics/Infra-Red (EO/IR) domain to help engineers grasp the most complex aspects of energy transport, enabling the design and test of tomorrow's artificial intelligence algorithms and hardware solutions. You will deploy cutting-edge technologies, leveraging your software development skills and collaborating with your Signal and Sensor Modeling peers

This is an Onsite role in Tucson, Arizona

What You will Do :

  • You will champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
  • You will develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
  • You will deploy EO or Radio Frequency (RF) phenomenology and advanced physics concepts in a software implementation.
  • You will enable our customer's success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
  • You will work efficiently inside an established software product, across programming languages, and technical environments.
  • You will research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
  • You will coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
  • You will mentor and share EO or RF expertise with your team.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and ten (10) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
  • Experience applying object-oriented software design, programming in C or C++, and using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux, Apple OS, or Windows DOS command line
  • Experience in Electro-Optics (EO), radar processing, Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing or discrimination algorithms
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Experience with OpenGL, CUDA, or other GPU accelerated languages/architectures and Scene Generation / Sensor Modeling technologies
  • Experience with electronic warfare modeling, developing signal processing algorithms for missile applications, signal & image processing, digital communications, or estimation theory, or AI/ML and training techniques
  • Experience with Real-time Programming, software change management tools and processes, using and augmenting Build Systems (Make/CMake), and working with large production software environment
  • Experience with and ability to interface with adjacent engineering disciplines (Signal Processing, Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering)
  • Current Department of Defense Clearance

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
