We are currently hiring a Senior Principle Mechanical Engineer to join the Advanced Airframes Department of the Mechanical Engineering organization located in Tucson, AZ. This position is to support the Hypersonic product line as a Guidance Section (GS) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). The GS IPTL is responsible to provide leadership for all GS Non-Recurring and Recurring tasks to ensure delivery of the system per program plan. This position will lead a multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test GS hardware using computer-aided design, analyses, and consistent coordination and communication across teams to ensure successful hardware performance.
Responsibilities will also include management of GS suppliers in both technical and cost/schedule parameters. The role requires execution expertise coupled with the ability to lead a high visibility development program. The GS IPTL role requires proactive and effective collaboration and communication across the program, with members of the Chief Technologist Pyramids and technical subject matter experts, with the Program Management Office, and with the appropriate Customer stakeholders. What You Will Do Cost and schedule responsibilities for the IPT and sub-tier suppliers. Report business metrics to both the program and functional leadership including Estimates At Complete (EAC) Provide technical execution leadership required to design, develop, integrate & test, verify, qualify and deliver a GS that complies with performance requirements and Design To Cost targets.
Ability to communicate both to the Raytheon leadership and the customer community to provide program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed. Work under limited supervision and act as the responsible engineer often in a project management role over entire subsystems within an effort. This often requires the ability to direct, delegate and review the work of others.
Actively work to identify, manage, and mitigate risks or capture opportunities.
Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members.
Extensive experience in task leadership and AUR design.Fulfillment of this job requisition is contingent on program contract award. Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or related field
Minimum 10 years of prior Engineering Design or Production/Manufacturing experience
Experience in electronics packaging or primary and secondary structures for missiles or similar applications
Experience managing teams of 3 or more in a engineering capacity
Experience using program any management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), or Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / or Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer Active Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense)
Experience with hypersonic airframe design and environments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) able to drive design and development across the hardware, software and test organizations
Experience with Scrum at Scale
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering Excellent presentation and proposal skills
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
