We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will play a hands-on part in designing, developing, and testing a variety of cutting-edge systems, including advanced imaging, LIDAR, SONAR, and motion control/pointing technologies.

This position focuses on hands-on development and fabrication of prototypes and new designs. You will work closely with the engineering team to assemble initial designs and contribute to improving their reliability, producibility, and ruggedness by recommending and implementing enhancements. Additionally, you will design and fabricate harnesses and cabling to integrate into various systems. This is an non-exempt, non-supervisory, full-time role based in our Tucson, AZ office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fabricate prototype equipment.
  • Recommend and implement design improvements to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Design and build harnesses and cabling for advanced systems.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and integration of systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to integrate and test new equipment in-house, in the field, and at testing laboratories.

Experiences and Background We Look For:
  • 5+ years Electrical Technician experience in a high technology, aerospace, or military environment
  • Experience building prototype and low-rate production systems
  • Knowledge of a wide range of military and commercial connectors and cabling systems including associated crimping, soldering, and backshell hardware
  • Passion to work with high performance electronic and electro-optic systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
Nice to Have:
  • 10+ years Electrical Technician experience in a high technology or aerospace environment
  • Experience with high density circuit card assembly and repair
  • Current J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience with tooling required in a prototype environment such as drills, milling machines, and 3D printers
  • Experience with building rugged harnessing that can function reliably in real-world environments
  • Hands on experience with common electrical test equipment such as scopes and meters
  • Current security clearance
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
