Job description

Duties This position is located with the 162nd in Tucson, AZ. The primary purpose of this position is to lead subordinates in the performance of aircraft ordnance work and electronic work that consist of complex electronic and aircraft ordnance systems maintenance. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Requirements Conditions of Employment ARIZONA AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard, in a military position assigned to 162d. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver's license. This position is subject to rotating or night shift work. Qualifications Military Grades: TSgt/E6 - MSgt/E7 Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess AFSC 2W171 GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must possess 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair, and installation of ordnance systems. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedies where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and the use of a variety of measuring and test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's specifications. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related to the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to guide others in work related directly to this occupational series. Education You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. Skill and knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, modify, or remove equipment and components such as gun systems, bomb racks, pylons, and the Ammunition Loading Systems (UALS/ALS). 3. Knowledge to implement regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. 4. Ability to plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. 5. Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optical principals.
