Job Overview:

As a Special Services Technician Apprentice, you will embark on a hands-on learning journey to develop essential skills in the commercial janitorial industry, specifically in commercial janitorial cleaning, floor care, window cleaning, and construction cleanup. This apprenticeship is designed to prepare you for a career as a skilled journeyman within the commercial cleaning industry. You will receive direct mentorship from experienced technicians and gain practical experience to build a solid foundation for a long-term career.

Responsibilities:

• Commercial Janitorial Cleaning: Learn and perform general janitorial duties, including dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom cleaning, and surface sanitation in various commercial settings.

• Commercial Floor Cleaning: Assist in and eventually perform specialized floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain high standards of appearance and safety.

• Commercial Window Cleaning: Develop skills in window cleaning techniques, including the safe use of equipment such as squeegees, extension poles, and ladders for interior and exterior window cleaning.

• Construction Clean-Up: Participate in post-construction cleanup, learning to remove debris, dust, and residual construction materials, ensuring that newly built or renovated spaces meet client standards for cleanliness and safety.

• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Gain hands-on experience in operating and maintaining various cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, extractors, and pressure washers.

• Safety and Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines, always ensuring a safe work environment. Understand and practice safety measures for handling chemicals and working at heights.

• Customer Interaction: Develop customer service skills to provide high-quality service and respond to client needs professionally.

• Record-Keeping: Assist in documenting completed tasks, maintaining an organized record of services performed for quality control and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED: Required.

• Interest in the Commercial Janitorial Industry: Eagerness to learn a variety of specialized cleaning skills in a commercial setting.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving equipment, and working on your feet for extended periods.

• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.

• Reliability and Punctuality: Demonstrated commitment to attendance and adhering to schedules.

• Willingness to Learn: Open to receiving feedback and continuously improving skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

• Flexible availability, including potential for evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
