Job description

Policy Program Analyst This position requires an active Public Trust clearance. The Policy Program Analyst will provide vital support in the research, analysis, and development of policy materials related to NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration). The role involves collaborating with federal staff on a range of tasks, from gathering background information to developing high-level briefing materials and managing meeting logistics. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Policy Program Analyst: $135,000 to $155,000 annually Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Policy Program Analyst Responsibilities Include: Conduct research and collect background information for reports, briefing memos, and other deliverables as directed by program staff. Analyze public record information, such as comments to public proceedings (NTIA, FCC, FTC, and other U.S. government agencies), press releases, trade publications, and other sources to assist in NTIA policy development. Provide copyediting support for NTIA policy products, ensuring consistent formatting of text and citations. Fact-check citations and ensure the robustness of sources cited for accuracy and reliability. Assist federal staff in preparing briefing materials for Department of Commerce (DOC) and NTIA principals, including the Secretary of Commerce, Deputy Secretary, and Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information. Develop briefing memos, drafting goals, talking points, background information, and biographies of key participants. Prepare briefing books for major trips and events, including daily agendas, approved briefing memos for engagements, and trip logistics (travel itineraries, key contacts, etc.). Assist in the preparation and execution of meetings by creating and sending meeting invites, maintaining invitee lists, and configuring meeting settings (e.g., in Microsoft Teams). Take meeting notes, identify action items, assign responsible parties, and distribute notes to stakeholders. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Policy Program Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: BA in International Policy, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field. MA in International Policy, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in an office environment. 5 years of experience in an office environment preferred. 3 years of experience in telecommunications policy preferred. Strong ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize complex information from public records and various sources for policy development. Exceptional writing and editing skills, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy in reports, memos, and citations. Clear and concise communication with internal teams and stakeholders, with the ability to draft organized briefing materials and documents. Excellent organizational skills to coordinate meetings, manage schedules, and track action items. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams; familiarity with research tools and citation management. Meticulous attention to accuracy in documents and logistical planning. Strong teamwork and adaptability in dynamic policy environments.
