Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program and successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.
Valid state licensure or certification as a COTA, with knowledge of state regulations pertaining to school-based therapy services.
Experience working with children in educational settings, along with strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively support students, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the occupational therapist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapeutic interventions for students with disabilities.
Conduct evaluations and assessments under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to identify students' occupational performance needs.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate occupational therapy strategies into classroom activities and routines.
Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and provide feedback to the occupational therapist regarding the effectiveness of interventions.
Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress, share insights, and contribute to the development of strategies for ongoing support.
