Job description

Duties Serve as Lead Logistics Management Specialist and principal advisor on logistics support for organization and subordinate Commands and Organizations. Lead and coordinate actions to develop strategic plans and studies related to logistical business areas that include supply, maintenance, and transportation missions. Analyze, measure, and evaluate logistics operations processes with a view toward improving total logistics cost effectiveness based on knowledge and experience. Provide the U.S. Army Alaska (USARAK) G-4, and Commanding General information, advice, and assistance on Army Logistics Policy and Requirements applicable to all logistics related areas. Exercise the full range of lead duties over administrative, technical and clerical employees graded through the GS-11 level. Provide regulatory expertise in the interpretation, application, and implementation of new or changed policies, regulations, and procedures pertaining to programs, projects, and/or studies assigned as relates to logistical operations. Coordination with supervisor and senior staff to identify-specific requirements, develop and adjust strategic plans and recommend administrative review and appraisal by reviewing progress and reports of implemented changes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Temporary duty (TDY) travel (10%) is required. Temporary duty (TDY) under Field Duty (5%) is required. Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-11. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
