Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Serves as a Technical Writer/Editor in an organization element responsible for managing the equipment publications necessary to support operation, maintenance, physical tear down, developmental and operational testing and deployment of all assigned items, including their systems, subsystems, components parts, accessories, etc for Program Management Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Command Controls and Effects (PM UAS C2E). Serves as focal point and publication manager for all of weapon system publications with the user and all related Command, DA, and Department of Defense (DoD) activities. Coordinates program status for management of the publication production effort and reacts to inquiries of the publication readiness posture and user support effectiveness. Prepares contract data requirements for the procurement of publications. Evaluates Contract Pricing Proposals, submits findings and recommendations to the Contracting Officer. Performs independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCF) relative to technical publications for other directorates and higher headquarters. Performs or assigns to lower graded employees the developing, assemblies, revising, and maintaining of the maintenance data, supply data, and illustration required for the publication of new or revised technical publication for assigned equipment. Utilizes extensive knowledge of writing procedures and technical judgment to translate complicated procedures into concise, easily understood terminology and procedures. Prepares and edits publications to be presented to multiple audiences such as operators, field and depot maintenance personnel. Utilize all available sources of information such as development and maintenance engineer specialists, field activities, engineering reports, in-house conferences, schematics, diagrams, and analysis of the equipment in the preparation and review of publications. Monitors and performs maintenance functions for assigned equipment systems. Follows timeframe schedules for distribution of the assigned equipment and for all maintenance support planning, including, but not limited to, maintenance engineering. Ensures provisioning of spares and of concurrent repair parts and monitors publications programs and new equipment training. Reviews and evaluates to ensure maintenance work orders (MWO) application on block basis, provides guidance to ensure effective technical assistance program, ensures monitoring of major items depot maintenance. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Technical Writer should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the following duties and responsibilities: Knowledge and experience in DoD Acquisitions and specifications to ensure product planning, development, acquisition, fielding plans, schedules, and strategies Reviews and revises documents to conform to existing style guidelines and industry best practices for regulatory documents, manuals, instructions, and technical orders Edits, standardizes, and revises material prepared by FAA staff members, organizing and formatting content for clarity, flow, and readability Meet with and receive guidance/technical direction from Subject Matter Experts, and produce an original written draft based on those discussions, to be reviewed, refined and finalized Ensures clarity and grammatical correctness to all written materials through attention to detail and the application of recognized editorial techniques Edits and maintains a listing of technical documents, their key data, and their revision schedule Writes original content in the form of articles, columns, talking points, etc. by gathering and assessing information from a wide variety of sources Experience with AR 25-50 Helps develop graphic concepts for communicating key messages Tracks product updates and ensures that they are reflected in the documentation Other Job Functions Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested Work with members of the C2E team, as required Experience and Skills Required Experience: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: US citizenship is required
Current Secret Security Clearance

Experience working in a DOD field
Microsoft Office 365 Tools to include TEAMs EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 16 years with High School Diploma REQUIRED TRAVEL: Not required
