Job description

This position is in support of Special Access Programs, a successful candidate must have U.S. Citizenship and an Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility. Additionally, this position is nominative; therefore, a successful applicant must apply for, and be granted, SCI and SAP access. The Security Program Security Officer can develop and implementing a multi-disciplined security program for complex, major acquisition Special Access Programs (SAPs) and is knowledgeable of personnel, industrial, physical, IT/IA, and information security principles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Evaluates, tests, recommends, develops, coordinates, monitors, and maintains information security policies, procedures, and systems, including access management for hardware, firmware, and software
Ensures that IS security architecture/designs, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with IS standards and overall IS security
Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations, and suggests procedures to halt future incidents
Investigates and resolves security incidents and recommends enhancements to improve security
Develops techniques and procedures for conducting IS security risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware, and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents
Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression
Typically requires a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts
Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others
Requires conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures within a particular area of expertise
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience No supervisory responsibilities; accountable for own contribution
Solves routine problems using existing procedures and standard practices Has limited impact on own work team; works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
Exchanges basic information, asks questions and checks for understanding
A minimum of 3 years related experience
Requires Bachelor's Degree
