Job description

We are looking for a Director of Business Development that is ready to take new Cyber Security products to Space and Autonomous Systems. In the past few years, the world has witnessed the importance of having robust zero-trust cyber security incorporated into critical platforms. This company is uniquely positioned to deliver secure communications for Missions, Spacecraft and Payloads. This is a startup company, and your role will be critical for generating revenue - you must be the "hunter". If you have a passion for making connections and driving revenue and if you are excited to aggressively chase and create opportunities on the market, this may be the job for you.
This role, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (with no direct reports), will focus on US Government acquisitions related to space and unmanned systems, while also exploring opportunities in commercial space and autonomous systems markets. Key Responsibilities: • Actively pursue new business opportunities through capture management. Stay informed on all US Government space initiatives, aligning the client's cybersecurity solutions with mission requirements.
• Identify, establish, and manage partnerships to support the adoption of technology in response to end-user needs.
• Influence technical initiatives within the government, identifying and articulating emerging needs that customers may not yet recognize.
• Lead capture efforts from opportunity identification through proposal submission and contract closing.
• Generate and qualify sales leads, target key accounts, develop a robust pipeline, and manage deals through to completion.
• Establish OEM agreements with system integrators, solution providers, and product vendors.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Contribute thought leadership by writing white papers.
• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and undertake additional responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Must have security clearance (TS/SCI).
• Minimum of three years of proven success in developing solutions and securing contracts within the US Government.
• An understanding of the cyber challenges that exist in space infrastructure and autonomous systems.
• Interest or knowledge in the advantages that blockchain technology can bring to cyber security and communications.
• Deep expertise in the space industry and familiarity with government acquisition processes.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders from operators to senior executives (SES) and general officers.
• Team-oriented, with the ability to effectively communicate customer needs to internal stakeholders.
• Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
