Job Description This position seeks qualified individuals to assume the role of "Avenger & Aerospace Engineer," providing support to the National Capital Region - Integrated Air Defense System (NCR-IADS) Management & Integration Cell (MIC). The Avenger & Aerospace Engineer will collaborate directly with the Senior Aerospace Engineer Team and the Task Order Lead (TOL) to offer professional engineering, technical, and programmatic assistance to the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command's (USASMDC) Center of Excellence (CoE) for Stinger-based weapons systems supporting NCR-IADS requirements. This support is crucial for the development of the NCR-IADS MIC's testing, training and experimentation requirements, including the validation of missile defense-related components and the conduct of basic and applied research to assess equipment adaptability to missile distribution design. The responsibilities of the Avenger & Aerospace Engineer Mid-Level fall under the category of Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support services. If selected, the candidate must quickly grasp the SMDC CoE's mission and the support it provides to the National Capital Region's Integrated Air Defense mission and Air Defense systems, as well as understand the practices, policies, and procedures of the supported MIC. Flexibility and promptness in responding to NCR-IADS mission needs within a demanding and evolving environment are critical for this position. The Avenger & Aerospace Engineer Mid-Level must possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant systems and their integration into the Homeland Defense program in support of NCR-IADS, with a focus on Avenger Weapons System employment, integration and operation. Familiarity with both US Army Air Defense doctrine and US Air Force doctrine is essential. Additionally, experience in a Joint test/evaluation environment supporting ground and air solutions under test is necessary. Furthermore, the Avenger & Aerospace Engineer Mid-Level should be capable of providing advice and assistance in the development of NCR-IADS unique configuration and information distribution systems within an urban environment. Experience with RF and IP-based communication solutions is desired. Demonstrated ability to plan and integrate Avenger Weapons Systems into Live events, to include Live Fires, is expected. Travel is expected to be a part of this position and may include tactical field site locations. Estimated 30% Travel Experience and Skills REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years experience Relevant experience contributing to Army and/or Joint programs, systems or large scale events, to include those events or systems that incorporate designing, integrating and operating government and commercial hardware and software solutions for operational, testing, experimentation and/or demonstration purposes to include analyzing systems and technologies related to one or more of the Management Integration Cell's (MIC) portfolio. Understanding of hardware and system requirements for the NCR-IADS. Demonstrated understanding and experience on Air and Missile Defense tactical system operations (e.g. Avenger Weapon System and its employment considerations, integration requirements, communications capabilities etc., Sentinel Radar and its data interfaces, Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD and each system's unique integration requirements to include designing / configuring network interfaces, tactical radio adapter connections and radio network configurations etc. Must demonstrate a deep understanding of MS Office products for planning, configuration documentation, briefings and reporting. Must be willing to create event reports and provide briefings to peers, superiors and external agencies as required. Active Secret Clearance PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: P lanning, designing, implementing and managing tactical data link networks, to include Link-16 networks and associated interfaces, to include RF and JREAP protocols, between tactical systems and commercial software applications is desired. Past demonstrated experience supporting Avenger Weapon Systems employment, Stinger-based weapons systems and/or Sentinel Radar experience to include AVDAS and PCR experience. Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System (NASAMS) and understand its integration into a unique architecture are desired. Documented NCR-IADS experience, particularly those with hand-on experience supporting system components, sub-components, software applications etc. EDUCATION: BA/BS from an accredited university in a technical field.
