Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Grand Bay, AL. As an SLP, you will play a key role in diagnosing, evaluating, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to enhance patients' quality of life. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.

  • Treatment Planning: Design and implement evidence-based therapy interventions to address patients' specific needs. Adjust treatment plans as necessary to reflect patient progress and changing needs.

  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide therapeutic services to improve speech, language, voice, and swallowing functions. Utilize a variety of techniques and modalities tailored to each patient's condition and goals.

  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about communication and swallowing disorders, treatment plans, and strategies for improving functional abilities. Provide guidance on home exercises and strategies to support progress outside of therapy sessions.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and professional standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.

  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language pathology. Engage in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Certification: Current and valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent.

  • Licensure: Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Alabama.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a patient-centered approach to care. Ability to develop and execute effective treatment plans and adapt to diverse patient needs.
