Ensure that all program and procedures are followed and implemented as described by

the company guidelines.

Maintain a high degree of quality, while working efficiently and cost effectively.

Responsible for processing and analyzing samples collected from the farms with little

to no supervision. Sample preparation & processing

Complete testing on a timely and accurate basis

Result tracking and reporting

Ensure lab safety objectives are met

Comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality standards

Perform validation studies

Provide support on quality tasks (review/draft of work instruction/forms, assist with

investigations, etc.)

Cross-training in other laboratory departments as time permits

Perform other duties in the course of their work which may be required

May be required to work on weekends as needed

Accurately process and analyze samples in a time efficient manner

Follow procedures outlined in the laboratory work instructions

Responsible for the quality of work performed as well as the quality of the product

produced.

Follow company policy and meet established procedures regarding bio-security,

animal welfare, safety, ISO requirements, and drug/alcohol policy.

Ensure all possible controls are in place to preserve and protect the purity and security

of samples from possible contamination, loss or damage.

Attendance is expected and required during normal working hours or during the

assigned working schedule determined by the supervisor.

Work Experience

Specific Experience:

Previous laboratory experience preferred with molecular diagnostics a plus.

Specific Training:

Basic computer knowledge including creating documents and spreadsheets

Ability to communicate via email.

Personal Qualities:

Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to accomplish daily and

weekly goals as well as deal with changing testing needs requested by supervisors or

the veterinarian.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.

Must be self-motivated with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Ability to perform departmental duties with team members but also able to work alone.

Computer application skills working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
