Position : Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel
Location : Birmingham and surrounding suburbs
Employment Type : Full-Time - Travel (13 week assignments + extension)
Shift : Day/Night & Evening Shifts available

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The Stepdown RN will provide specialized care for patients who are transitioning from critical care but still require close monitoring and support. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality patient outcomes through comprehensive assessments, patient-centered care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and assess patients recovering from critical conditions or surgeries, ensuring a smooth transition from intensive care.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
Utilize advanced nursing skills to observe and respond to changes in patient conditions, intervening promptly as needed.
Maintain clear and accurate patient documentation, including vital signs, progress notes, and treatment plans.
Educate patients and families on ongoing care, recovery expectations, and discharge plans.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Ensure patient safety by following all protocols, maintaining a sterile environment, and monitoring for potential complications.
Support a positive patient experience by providing compassionate care, addressing concerns, and fostering a healing environment.

Qualifications:
Current RN license in Alabama required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in stepdown, telemetry, critical care, or a similar setting.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with a focus on patient care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
